Privacy Policy

i2 Player keeps what it needs on your device. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

Effective 19 September 2026

1. Summary

This policy explains how the i2 Player app ("the app"), published by i2 Devs ("we", "us"), handles information. i2 Player is a media player. It plays playlists that you supply from your own IPTV provider. It does not provide any media or playlists itself.

2. Information kept on your device

To work, the app stores the following in its private storage on your device. None of it is sent to us.

InformationWhy it is kept
Playlist detailsThe name you give a playlist, the server address, and the username and password, or the M3U link or file you added. Used to connect to your provider and to switch between saved playlists.
Favourites, watch progress and recently watched channelsSo you can find things again and resume where you stopped. Kept separately for each playlist.
PreferencesLayout and sort choices, hidden categories, how often the catalogue refreshes, and similar settings.
Parental control PINStored only as a salted, one-way hash, never as the PIN itself, together with the list of locked categories.
Cached catalogue and artworkChannel and title lists and images from your provider, kept temporarily so the app opens faster.

Your device's own backup, such as iCloud Backup, may include this storage, as it does for most apps. That is controlled by your device settings.

3. Information that leaves your device

The app connects to other services only to do what you ask. Each receives only what it needs.

Your IPTV provider

When you add or use a playlist, the app connects directly to the server you entered. That server receives your playlist login details, your IP address and the requests needed to list and play content. Your provider is independent of us. How it handles your information is covered by its own terms and privacy policy.

Speed test

The optional connection speed test downloads and uploads test data using Cloudflare's speed test service (speed.cloudflare.com). Cloudflare can see your IP address while the test runs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Trailers and links

If you open a trailer or an external link, it opens on YouTube or in your browser. From then on, that service's own privacy policy applies.

4. What we do not collect

If you email us for support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you.

5. Your choices and deleting data

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including access, correction and deletion. We do not hold your playlists or viewing data, so most of these rights are exercised directly on your device. We will answer any request sent to the address above.

6. Security

The app stores its data in storage that other apps cannot read. The parental PIN is hashed. Whether your connection to your provider is encrypted depends on the address the provider gives you: an https:// address is encrypted, and an http:// address is not.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. Parental controls let you lock categories behind a PIN.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling information differently, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
